Sarimbun Camp 10th-12th March 2006
Yay! Finally back! It seems to be ages that I last posted. Anyway, I just came back from a thrilling adventure camp 3 days ago. Ignoring the poor hygine conditions, the camp was fun overall with those humourous instructors. I had been there four years ago. The feeling was totally different. I have been going crazy after the camp.
It was a 3-day 2-night camp. The first day, we had some admin stuff in school and some mass games and classroom cleaning. Then we headed to sarimbun campsite in the afternoon. It was a long trip. We were sent to our bunk. The females slept in the dormetries. The bed was more shaky and sandy. At first when I went up the bed I regretted as I was afraid that I could not go down as it was shaky. But I finally went down and it was time for lunch. I had curry veggies and plain rice. Then we went for tent pitching, first aid then team building. We played "harry potter" for team building and it went smoothly. Instructor Wan Ting was fed up with us as we had been echoing whatever she said after playing the "repeat after me" game. Then the lightning began to strike and we all headed to help out to carry the kayaks back to the campsite. After that we had our dinner. I forgot what I had. Then we have night activities. We were blind folded. I felt that I had lost my sense of direction. We all followed our instructors and we were brought round and round the same place, up and down and we trip over the roots and were scratched by some obstacles. I feel so blind. Then we had our song sections and learn some interesting songs. Then shower time! Finally! But I waited very long till my turn to shower. I was the last few to shower. Then we had our debrief and supper den lights out. Good night! -.-'''
The second day, I woke up quite early then I wash up. I went to the parade square early before having our morning stretches at seven. We were all very sleepy. Then we had our breakfast. Yummy! Nasi Lemak! Then we had our kayaking. It was a great expirence! I wanted to take one star kayaking course if possible so that I can at least kayak to pulau ubin. Then we had our river crossing in a muddy river. Next, nature rumble... Get muddy! Yay! I love it! These three activites were great. Then we shower before lunch so that we do not have to worry if we don't get to shower in the evening. I forgot what I had for lunch. Then we had area cleaning at canteen. Yucks! Ants ants ants! They were drown by our instructor darul. Poor ants. Then we headed for standard obstacles course. It was a piece a cake for many of us. However, some of them encountered problems. Next we had rock climbing, but I did not had the chance to climb the rock due to time constrain. I was quite disappointed though I had climb the same rock wall 4 years ago. But there is something that I am proud of is 3H have 4 rock wall heros -- 2 males, 2 females -- kaung, wayne, sylvia (the 1st female from nchs to reach the top) and Jocelyn (the 2nd female from nchs to reach the top) [They are the only two females from nchs to reach the top]. Then it was camp fire preparation and all thanks to macadia, wan xin, kaung, arthur, chun leong and jing kang to give ideas. Then, it was shower time and I only washed my hair. Firstly, the queue was too long. Secondly, there were frogs in the toilet. Eww! Frogs! I am scared of frogs. Luckily I had showered earlier. Then we had our dinner and campfire. Finally, debrief and supper then lights off.
Yawn! We had not enough sleep. We had our breakfast at 6.30 and we only had bread, milo and jam. That's not enough for me. Nevermind, I would have a long shower, a long nap and a good meal after the camp break -- it's the last day! Next area cleaning. 3H is so unfortunate to clean the toilet. My group, group 14, clean the male toilet and the other, 13, clean the female ones. I pity those boys who cleaned the female toilet. It's not faeces or mud, it's the "ahem". The male toilet was no better -- full of faeces, muddy undergarments, muddy footwear, used plastic bags and soaps bottle. The sink is more disgusting -- full of phlems, food scraps, sand and waste. I had a hard time picking up those litters and clearing the sand and sweeping out the sand. Finally done! It was sparkling clean for a few second. We banned people for using the toilet. After that, grand debrief and prize giving then finally home sweet home! Miss you sarimbun )= *Sob!__________________________________
